Perspective...

In the midst of my self-loathing I stumbled upon this Short Film, Beyond Iraq, that was shown at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

It really puts life into perspective and was a nice “escape” from my depression...even if it was only for 8 minutes.

here's something to make anybody depressed, and yet give hope at the same time.

Oh James,
I wish I could tell you it all gets better. But the last thing you need is for yet another person to tell you such crap. It gets better, then it gets even worse, then better, etc. At this point, all I can tell you is I'm functional. Remember your post about hygiene? There are different levels. I might shower everyday, but I still can't always bring myself to wash my face, floss, brush before I go to bed every night. It may seem like worlds away, but it's really just a matter of degrees. The inability to do the simple little things - exercise, floss, dust - become monumentally undoable. It does get better. But it is cyclical. Keep doing what you're doing.

James, perhaps I was a bit glib. If you need to talk, for real, e-mail me. You can find it on my site. I'd be happy to talk for real. I've been there. And sometimes a friendly voice makes all the differnce.
